Evaluating the accuracy of the ProAQT® sensor cardiac output in comparison with Pulmonary Artery Catheter (PAC)



The perioperative course of cardiac surgery is associated with rapid hemodynamic variations due to bleeding, low cardiac output and vasoplegia. Monitor hemodynamic parameters, such as cardiac index (CI), are helpful for guiding and optimizing fluid resuscitation and response to drug administration (i.e., vasopressors and inotropes), which is crucial in the early stages of the postoperative period to achieve adequate tissue perfusion, and it may ultimately improve outcomes
